Namaste! Welcome to masala kitchen. Today I am going to make tricolor bread pakora. For making the bread pakora, first we will have to knead the gram flour. For kneading the gram flour we need 1 bowl gram flour (approx. 150 gm). ½ tsp carom seeds. Turmeric powder Salt to taste, red chilli powder and asafoetida. You can also add baking soda to the gram flour. I have taken 8 slices of bread. For the filling we need tomato ketchup, green chutney and boiled potatoes. If you want to make the potato filling, then you’ll need all the spices. In place of potato, you can also use crushed cottage cheese. Add salt to the gram flour. Red chilli powder Turmeric powder One pinch Asafoetida. Half tsp crushed Carrom seeds. Use water to make a batter out of it. The batter should not be too thick. Slowly add the water, so that lumps are not formed. The batter should neither be too flowing nor too thick. We need medium consistency batter, so that bread can easily be coated with it. Now, add one pinch baking soda to it. Cover the batter and leave it for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, we’ll prepare the potato filling. I have taken two boiled potatoes. Mash the potatoes. Add chopped cilantro to the potatoes. Green chillies Turmeric powder Red chilli powder Roasted cumin powder Dry mango powder Salt to taste. Add one tbsp oil to the pan. Add fennel seeds to it. You can also add cumin seeds instead of fennel seeds. Add little bit of asafoetida. Add this tempering to the potatoes. Mix it well. Take four slices of bread. Apply tomato ketchup to the first slice. Keep the second slice above it. Put the potato filling on the second slice. Put the third slice on top of it. Apply green chutney to the third slice. Coat it with the batter. Now, deep fry it. Before flipping to the other side, pour some oil on top of it. I will slice it after it cools down. Slice it now. Use the sharp knife to slice it.
