okay today I’m going to be showing you a
recipe for making homemade hoagie rolls now the recipe calls for meeting this in
your stand mixer but I do not have one yet and so I am going to be needing this
by hand so for starters you’re going to be putting all your ingredients into the
bowl and mixing and then meeting so you want to start with 1 cup of warm water
and we have 1 tablespoon of yeast and 2 tablespoons of sugar 1 teaspoon of salt
3 tablespoons of butter that is softened which I already went ahead and did and
then you have 1 egg and next you want to put in three to
four cups of all-purpose flour I’m just going to start them a little bit but I
want to put it all in in case we don’t need that extra cup starting to get a
little bit thicker like a dough once you’re done reading this you want to let
it rise for an hour cover I’m going to be rolling into a rectangular shape and
cutting it into six inch increments so that movies okay I’m going to actually
put a little bit more flour in there it looks pretty sticky okay so I’m pretty
good double going I’m actually going to take it out of the bowl
I need it a little bit is a little bit sticky flour into the dough here so I’m
going to just need this properly for about five to eight minutes until it’s a
good consistency and then I will put it in a bowl cover it and let it rise for
an hour welcome back to our homemade hoagie video so the dough has risen and
we are going to roll it out into a large rectangle so you want it 24 inches and
then you want to about a quarter of an inch thick and then you are going to
actually cut it into about six inch strips let’s see and you want to make sure that
when you are rolling these you want to roll them tight because when you put
them in the oven to bake they will unroll so you want to make
sure you roll them tight and then pinch them so that they will not come undone
one year when you’re putting them in the oven and they’re baking nice and tight okay so we are gonna let these rise for
another 30 minutes so probably about we’re you know 5 to 10 minutes left of
the rising time you can go ahead and start preheating your oven to 375 and
then you’re gonna end up baking these for 10 to 12 minutes just until they are
lightly brown on the top okay so we will come back in about half
an hour check these out and get them in the oven
okay so we have let that rise there you can see we have our four hoagie rolls
our oven is preheated to 375 I’m going to put these in for 10 to 12 minutes or
until they are lightly Brown on top we will come back I’ll show you what those
look like all cooked and ready to go and we’ll see you soon
okay so our 10 minute timer just went off
hold these and those look delicious homemade hoagie rolls you like the video
