Welcome to a new video… …in todays video I show you how to bake quick & easy pita breads… …get a tall vessel… …crumble the yeast into… …I’ve got ½ cube of yeast, thats enough to bake 4 pita breads… …pour in 150 milliliters of lukewarm water… …also add 1 tablespoon of sugar… …stir using a fork or whisk… ….until sugar and yeast have dissolved… …then add 300 grams of flour into a mixing bowl… …pour in the yeast-water-mixture… …add a teaspoon of salt & a good dash of olive oil… …knead using your hands or a food processor until a smooth dough… …about 4 – 5 minutes… …possibly add another dash of olive oil, if the dough seems to be too dry … and continue kneading until the dough is beautiful smooth… … then form a ball of dough and rub
all around with olive oil… … cover with a kitchen towel and let rest for about 30 – 45 minutes … … until the doughs volume has doubled, like this … … then give the dough onto the countertop … … as we previously rubbed the dough with olive oil we need no flour … … for kneading the dough again… … and then cut dough into 4 equal sized pieces … … form dough balls while move your hands in circles … … then roll out with a rolling pin … … about 15 – 20 centimeters wide … … until small flatbreads … … lay them on a lined baking tray with a little distance from each other … … bake them in a preheated oven at 200° C about 10
