Today I will be making sweet paratha. This is a whole wheat flat bread filled with nuts, sugar and cinnamon. This enjoyable paratha is a great option for breakfast or serve anytime as a snack with tea or coffee. This recipe will make 4 parathas. To make the paratha, first to make dough we will need: 1 cup of whole wheat flour 1 tablespoon of oil 1/4 teaspoon of salt Approximately 1/2 cup of water For filling we will need about 1/3 cup of almonds coarsely ground 1/3 cup of walnuts coarsely ground 1/3 cup of sugar 2 tablespoons of coconut powder 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder We also need about 1/4 cup of whole wheat flour This will help us rolling the paratha. And about 2 tablespoons of oil for making the paratha. First I will mix the filling. Almond powder Sugar Walnut Coconut powder Cinnamon And mix it well. And cinnamon is already smelling. Filling is ready. Now we are going to make the dough. Flour Oil Salt Mix it well. And now add the water slowly. We need the soft and pliable dough. Little more water. Little bit more. So I have used about 1/3 cup of water. Knead it little. I have knead the dough for about 30 seconds. Now cover the dough. I am using the wet paper towel. So this should sit for about 15 minutes before we will make parathas. Dough has been resting for about 15 minutes. So I will knead the dough for another 30 seconds. And then divide it into 4 equal parts. Dough is looking very good. Very smooth and very soft. So I will divide in 4 equal parts. Roll them between your palms. And I will use the dry flour so that makes it easy to roll. So I will roll them in about 2.5 inch diameter. Now I need to fill them with the mixture with almond mix. So put about 3 spoons of mix. And just close it. Pull around from all sides. And it should be closed very nicely. Now I am going to cover this and let them sit for about 3-4 minutes. It has been about 3 minutes. So I will roll the parathas. So just put it in the dry flour again. It will help us rolling the paratha. And put the seam side up. Press it with your palm. And then roll. You should roll this for about 6.5-7 inch diameter. If it is starts sticking then just put little bit more flour. And roll it. I am ready to grill the paratha. Heat is on, medium high. To make sure that skillet is ready. I will just sprinkle few drops of water and this should sizzle. That’s it skillet is done. And we are ready to make paratha. So I will just lightly oil. And then just put the paratha over. Wait till paratha has changed the color. And it has started puffing from few places. It should take about 40 seconds. As you see paratha has changed the color. It has started drying up. And you can see puffing just from very few places. So this is the time to turn over the paratha. And you see some light golden spots. This was the right timing. Just wait another 20-30 seconds and then put the oil. So I will put just about a spoon of oil. Spread it and turn it over. Very nice color. We should turn the paratha couple of times. It should be golden brown from both sides. Don’t cook on very high heat. Just keep putting your spatula all around. Very nice color. So this side of paratha is done. So just let’s check it other side. This is also just for another maybe few seconds. Paratha is ready. Sweet parathas are looking great. Nice and crunchy. They have a nice aroma of cinnamon.
