Today we’re gonna make a super creamy
and moisturizing body butter. Normally all homemade body butters are a blend of cosmetic butters and carrier oils And although there are techniques on how to make them fluffy, they all end up being pretty hard once they’ve fully settled. But this recipe will give you a soft creamy butter like no other whipped body butter we’ve made before. So let’s begin! For this recipe you’ll need 4 ounces of mango butter, 2.75 ounces of jojoba oil, and 60 drops of your favorite essential oil blend. We’re going to be using Indulge by AuraCacia. So first you want to cut the mango butter in small cubes or pieces, and then put them in a bowl. Using the back of a spoon mash the butter into a soft paste, And the more pasty you can make it, the easier it will be to whip. Now add a little bit of jojoba oil and mix it up by hand, Then use a hand blender to start whipping the butter. Slowly add more jojoba, a little bit at a
time, and then continue whipping. And unlike the butter melting methods we use in other recipes where heat is used, with this method you can add the essential oils at any time since nothing is hot. Now you want to mix this on high for a few minutes until everything is wonderfully creamy and soft. This body butter will be very creamy and close to liquid, and it won’t turn hard again and so far we’ve only been able to achieve this consistency by specifically using mango butter and jojoba oil. Place your mixture in a few small containers and now you can use this as an all-over moisturizer. A little of this wonderful mango body butter goes a long way So any small jar will last you quite a long time. So we hope you give this a try and love it as much as we do! Thank you for this recipe!!! I will definitely try it soon!
That jojoba oil is so golden ♡
Made this today and it's great that you don't have to melt anything down. I love that this is thin enough to use for a pump, however, it's very oily once applied to your skin and you may need to towel off the extra oil on your skin before getting dressed (which somewhat defeats the purpose of applying lotion).
The mango butter I have is more of a beeswax solidity (I live in a very cold area), can I heat it a little to make the first step easier?
Do you store it in the refrigerator or on the shelf? Thanks!
Could a KitchenAid mixer be used instead of a hand blender? What speed would you recommend and use the whip attachment?
Thanks FOR sharing
I did the 2.75 oz of Jojoba, but it was too greasy for me.
Mine turns hard
I have Argan and Rosehip oils .. they’re the oils that suit my skin .. would they still be okay to use instead of the Jojoba oil?
Mine came out grainy. How can I avoid that?
